Sir Henry Royce Award

 

We’re searching for an outstanding young professional who has excelled in the workplace within the last twelve months.  He or she may have shown exceptional leadership in developing a project, outstanding individual effort as part of a team or have demonstrated technological excellence when undertaking an engineering project.  

Please note that outstanding career achievement over a number of years is recognised via the Mike Sargeant Award for young professionals.  

 

How to nominate a candidate

To make a nomination, please complete the on-line nomination form via the link on the right.  Please ensure that a 'curriculum vitae' (CV) is attached to the nomination form.  We welcome nominations for women and men from around the world. You do not need to an IET Member to nominate or be nominated.

 

Awards ceremony

The winner of the Sir Henry Royce Award will be invited to attend the IET Ambition and Achievement awards ceremony in London on 22 November 2012, where they will be presented with their medal, an inscribed certificate and £250 cash by one of the Trustees of the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation.  This high profile event offers excellent networking opportunities.

 

Background information

The award was set up by the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation and the IEE (now IET) in 1990. The Sir Henry Royce Award is valued by the engineering and IT industry and, by winning this prestigious award, the winner will highlight their achievements to future employers.

 

2011 Sir Henry Royce Medal winner: Sally Nicholson

 

Sally Nicholson photo The Sir Henry Royce Medal for Young Professionals 2011 was awarded to Sally Nicholson from National Grid, Warwick.  Sally has led a number of investment teams and has fulfilled the role as a power system design engineer for projects in North Wales. Over the last 12 months, Sally’s contribution to National Grid’s challenge to ‘rewire the Nation’ has been significant.
