Bionic Health:
Next Generation Implants, Prosthetics and Devices
A one day seminar focusing on the micro and nano technologies which promise to shape and revolutionise the future of healthcare worldwide

Welcome to Bionic Health 2009

Thursday, 1 October 2009 I The IET, Savoy Place, London, UK

The IET and the IoN are proud to welcome you to this exciting one day event that will provide delegates with a valuable opportunity to network with peers and forge potential working relationships to further grow and develop the biomedical implant industry.

Over the last decade or so, advances in sensors and actuators, wireless communications, implantable power sources, biocompatible materials and micro-assembly techniques for 3D and flexible electronic structures have enabled the advancement of intelligent, implantable devices for a variety of therapies.

There is now a growing interest in dramatically extending the use of implantable devices for real time diagnosis, remote monitoring and ongoing therapy that is in tune with the needs of individual patients. Furthermore, implantable and direct contact electronic devices that can support complex tissue functions and have the potential to revolutionize health care.

Why do you need to attend this seminar?

• This event will provide delegates with an opportunity to gain knowledge on state-of-the-art technologies and research advances across Europe and the UK in medical devices.

• Gain an insight into innovative techniques and technologies that could be applicable to a wide range of fields for potential product improvement.

• Critically, it will also provide a valuable networking opportunity for individuals from different disciplines to explore opportunities for new collaborative projects, where the application of their unique knowledge might make a real difference to the future of healthcare.
