31 March - 1 April 2014 | Imperial College London, UK

The Ninth International Conference on Computation in Electromagnetics CEM 2014 has now taken place. The event brought together over a hundred participants from 24 countries - students and researchers engaged in methods and techniques of computational electromagnetic, engineers facing the challenges of hazards and EMC/EMI and designers of low frequency as well as high frequency devices.

CEM 2014 has continued with the tradition of keynote lectures and invited ‘scene setting’ introductory talks on selected themes.

Posters were grouped into the following conference sessions: Theory and methodology; Numerical methods and techniques; Algorithms and formulations; Multiphysics, coupled problems, optimisation; Modelling and simulation of devices and systems.

Each interactive poster session was preceded by “one-minute, one-slide” presentations allowing authors to highlight their work. This was very well received by all delegates.

CEM 2014 offered extremely valuable networking opportunities. The participants also enjoyed the opportunity to see the exhibition of electromagnetic software vendors Ansys, Cobham, CST and Infolytica.

The event was technically co-sponsored by the Magnetics Society of the IEEE, UK Magnetics Society, ACES and International Compumag Society.

Conference was opened by IET President  Barry Brooks and chaired by Professor Jan Sykulski, University of Southampton. Opening and closing ceremonies and all keynote lectures as well as the invited talks were recorded by the IET.tv.

CEM  has once again proved to be the leading computational electromagnetics in the events calendar. Thank you to everyone involved, the conference wouldn’t have been such a success without your support and enthusiasm.
