23 October 2014 | BCS, London, UK

The trend of analysing data has grown significantly across many industries, and with the recruitment of Chief Data Officers and Data Scientists it is enabling companies to make better business decisions and test whether existing models and theories truly work.

The Centre for Economics and Business Research predicts that the big data market place could inject £216bn in to the UK economy and create 58,000 new jobs by 2017.

Government has also taken note of this movement and is investing significantly in the Alan Turing Institute project which will undertake research into methods of collecting, organising and analysing large sets of data.

Although this appears to be a quick win for many companies, when starting a project of this nature it is so important that those involved understand the laws and legal framework that must be adhered to from the very beginning and we will be addressing the key steps at this seminar.
