Fibre to Britain 2009
Managing best practice fibre delivery to meet future digital demands
25 November 2009, Institute of Physics, London, UK

Welcome to the Fibre to Britain Conference website

The IET is delighted to announce the programme for the inaugural seminar, Fibre to Britain.

Infrastructure investment is a massive part of the road to recovery from financial crisis. For this reason, government spending on internet broadband is as important as building the railways of the 19 th century.

Connectivity is rising rapidly on the government agenda and projects like Digital Britain is one result of the digital business push. However, internet and IT projects have been high on the agenda for some time and it is time to now deliver capability through fibre.

This seminar presents the opportunity to hear and discuss the recent developments in technical challenges and solutions to projects providing high-speed internet service. You will also learn how to meet the government-determined technical outcomes in line with the finance and investment concerns. The highlights of the seminar discussion include:

  • The emerging trends from international and national pilot delivery and consumer demand
  • The developing business case, investment and financing concerns
  • Benchmarking against European delivery
  • The key advancements in addressing the technical concerns, speed and standards
  • The initial factors for success for the national roll-out project and rural areas

We look forward to seeing you this year as these leading speakers discuss the key industry concerns and provide the learning, networking and answers to these pressures.

Kind Regards,
