Dr Arseniy Kuznetsov, Head of Advanced Concept and Nanotechnology Division at the Data Storage Institute, A-STAR, Singapore is the winner of the £350,000 IET A F Harvey Engineering Research Prize. He was chosen from high-calibre candidates from across the world as a result of his outstanding contributions to research in the field of Lasers and Optoelectronics and his pioneering research on a new branch of nanophotonics: optically resonant dielectric nanostructures and dielectric nanoantennas.
Dr Kuznetsov’s research is focussed on developing a new concept of low-loss dielectric nanoantennas for real-life devices via nanofabrication procedures.
The IET’s A F Harvey Research Prize, worth £350,000, is named after Dr A F Harvey who bequeathed a generous sum of money to the IET for a trust fund to be set up in his name - which is for the furtherance of scientific research into the fields of medical, microwave, laser or radar engineering.
Dr Kuznetsov presented a Prize Lecture, entitled ‘Novel resonant dielectric nanophotonics for novel technologies’ at IET London: Savoy Place on 9 March 2017.
