The Conference will be held at the Edinburgh Conference Centre, Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital and one of the world’s most spectacular cities where every visitor is captivated by a stunning skyline and magnificent architecture. Well served by an international airport, and with good rail and road links, Edinburgh is one of the UK’s most visited cities.

Whilst delegates are, of course, free to book accommodation anywhere in Edinburgh, we would recommend that you stay on campus at Heriot-Watt University.
The accommodation is located close to the main University facilities, ICSSC 2009 conference venue and reception, comprising of single en-suite accommodation, serviced daily with a compliment of guest toiletries, shower room, television, telephone, internet access and tea/coffee making facilities.
Single ensuite bedrooms are £39.00 including full Scottish Breakfast per night.

How to get here
Edinburgh Conference Centre at Heriot-Watt University is located just 6 miles west of Edinburgh City Centre, 3 miles from Edinburgh International Airport and just minutes from Edinburgh City Bypass. This, combined with car parking for over 1,000 cars and excellent public transport links to the city centre 24/7, means getting here could not be easier.

Travelling by bus
The journey to Heriot-Watt University by bus takes about 30 to 45 minutes from the city centre. The 25/25A departs from Princes Street, via Haymarket Station, Gorgie Road and Sighthill.
The 25 is the most frequent bus to Edinburgh Campus, leaving the city centre every 10 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 19.00. During peak times, morning and evening, Monday to Friday, the 25a provides an additional service to Edinburgh Campus.
The 34 departs from Ocean terminal via Princes Street, Fountainpark and Sighthill. The service operates Monday to Friday from 06.00 until 23.00, leaving every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 20.00.
The 45 leaves from St Andrew Square via the Mound, Tollcross, Bruntsfield, Colinton and Currie. The service operates every 30 minutes Monday to Friday from 06.30 till 18.00.
The 25 runs until midnight, after which LRT operates the N25, a hourly night bus to Edinburgh Campus from Waverley train station via Princes Street, Haymarket, Gorgie and Sighthill.

Travelling by plane
Edinburgh International Airport is served by scheduled national and international flights. The airport is on the west of the city, just 3 miles from the campus. The journey by taxi takes about 10 minutes and a regular bus service links the airport and the city centre.

West Lothian Council run the No555 bus service between the Hermiston Park and Ride and Edinburgh International Airport. The service runs every 2 hours throughout the day, for further details please contact the West Lothian Council

The Hermiston Park and Ride is approx 10 minutes walk from the Edinburgh Conference Centre, it can also be accessed by taking the LRT No.25 bus service.
Travelling by car
Edinburgh Conference Centre at Heriot-Watt University is situated half a mile west of the Calder Junction exit from the A720 city bypass. The bypass connects with the:
A8/M8 and M9 (West and central Scotland)
A1 (East and south Scotland )
A7/A68 (Borders and south Scotland)
When arriving via the M8 from Glasgow, turn right at the Hermiston Gait roundabout and make sure that you follow the A71 signs for Kilmarnock.
Travelling by coach
All national coach services to Edinburgh arrive at St Andrew's Square bus station, situated at the east end of Princes Street.
Operated by Stage Coach, the X40 departs from Inverkeithing rail station via Ferrytoll park and ride, Barnton, South Gyle, Gyle Shopping Centre, Edinburgh Park and Sighthill. The service operates hourly from 09.00 till 19.00 Monday- Friday.

Travelling by train
The mainline rail network serves the centre of Edinburgh well. Edinburgh Waverley is at the east end of Princes Street and Haymarket station is at the west end, towards the direction of the Heriot-watt.
Onward travel to Edinburgh Conference Centre can then be made either by taxi or local bus from either rail station please see below for further information.
