"Those early days were tough and it took a lot of determination to pursue my dreams. An Engineering Horizons Bursary would have made a huge difference to me."

Chair of the IET Engineering Horizons Bursary Panel

Join me in supporting future engineers through the IET Engineering Horizons Bursary...

The IET Engineering Horizon Bursary is a £1,000 a year award specifically designed to assist engineering apprentices or degree students facing personal challenges. By providing financial assistance, the bursary allows students to overcome obstacles to follow their career aspirations and become future role models to others.

The IET recognises the importance of inclusion and the need to widen access to a larger pool of talent and increase the number of professional engineers, whilst addressing the growing skills shortages faced in the UK. The award is open to both mature and part-time students studying within the UK, on either an accredited IET degree course, or IET Approved Apprenticeship scheme.

Jeremy Watson is seeking your support both individually or as a company within the engineering community, in order to enable the Engineering Horizons Bursary to help many future engineers and technicians to follow their dreams.

"The bursary is not only about supporting a technical or vocational route into engineering, it's also about helping those who have had to overcome personal challenges to pursue an engineering education and career"
