IET announces Innovation Award winners
Among the 15 winning innovations were applications designed for airport security systems, water supplies in developing countries, and mobile financial services. It culminated in a glittering awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Riverbank, London hosted by television presenter Maggie Philbin.
Innovative combined water filter and kettle entered into IET awards
A combined water filter and kettle - known as the Filket - which incorporates a new type of recyclable filter membrane, has been entered into the Institution of Engineering and Technology's (IET) Innovation Awards.

Top innovators honoured at IET awards A battery that can be recharged using USB connections, a showpiece village which is helping set the standards for homes of the future and a "digital plaster" which monitors the wearer's vital health signs using wireless technology are among the winners at the prestigious third annual IET Innovation in Engineering Awards.
