NFC (Near Field Communications) is fast becoming one of the hottest topics in the mobile industry. It is primarily meant for contactless payment services better known as mobile wallet. But it can also be used in a variety of other communications areas such as access control, consumer electronics, transport and healthcare.

The IET aims to shape this timely seminar to look beyond mobile payments by discussing innovations, technical challenges and real advantages of NFC technology.

We welcome anyone interested in wireless communications for the opportunity to network and share ideas.

“The IET has drawn together speakers who will explain how NFC can be used, how it will develop and the implications for both business and consumers. NFC Now and Beyond is intended to provide insights into the complex eco-system that surround the use of NFC. This is a technology that soon will be present in almost everyone’s mobile phone. I hope those that can attend the event will contribute the dialogue between users and developers to determine the best technology solutions and business models.  NFC is a technology that may affect all our lives, by connecting our online mobile presence to the physical world around us, so please come and join in the discussion at NFC Now and Beyond”
