IET Present Around The World (PATW) Competition

A global competition for Young Professionals and Students within engineering to develop and showcase their presentation skills

Structure of the competition

The competition is organised by Local Networks (LNs) all around the world, and has a number of different stages. The more stages you win, the further you will go in the competition!

Summary of competition stages:

  • Preliminary Round: student groups, open entry (only a few Local Networks run this level)
  • Local Network (LN) competition: open entry, includes student group winners
  • National (Area) competition: winners of LN competitions
  • Regional competition: winners of LN or National (Area) competitions
  • Global final: 5 regional winners

The five PATW Regional Finals are as follows:

  • Americas
  • Asia Pacific
  • Europe, Middle East and Africa
  • South Asia
  • United Kingdom

Calendar

The Local Network (LN) and Student group heats are usually held between September and May, leading up to the Global final in November.

Prizes


Winners and runners-up* at the Local Network level will receive a cash prize. The winner will go on to the next stage of the competition.

You could win a cash prize and travel to the global final.
