| Conference Dinner
The PEMD 2008 Conference Dinner will be held at The National Railway Museum, York, the largest museum in the world, responsible for the conservation and interpretation of the British national collection of historically significant railway vehicles and other artefacts. The Museum contains an unrivalled collection of locomotives, rolling stock, railway equipment, documents and records.
A stunning backdrop is provided across three exhibition halls, housing the world's
pre-eminent railway collection; The Great Hall, a former engine shed, complete with working turntable. The Station Hall, previously York's central goods depot and now laid out like a period railway station, and the newest gallery, opened in summer 1999, The Works.
Guests will have the opportunity to tour the museum during the drinks reception.
The Great Hall which has a stunning display of the finest locomotives in the collection including The Flying Scotsman, Mallard, Eurostar and the Shinkansen 'Bullet Train', is a very popular exhibition for most guests.
The three course seated dinner will be held in the unique location of the Station Hall, were guests dine amongst carriages and locomotives set against the backdrop of the Edwardian era.
