Introduction

In a very cost-driven market with fewer companies owning more market share and big companies increasingly focusing on custom hardware architectures, programmable hardware systems - including FPGAs, processors and memory components - are becoming increasingly important and boundaries between hardware and software more and more blurred.

As a result of the shift and developments within the market, this year’s event - the 4th in a series and for the first time organised together with Electronics Weekly - will be targeting the cross over in hardware and software design.

Hear cutting edge keynote addresses from:

  • Allan Cantle, President and Founder, Nallatech
  • Bernard Candaele, Deputy Director, Thales, Embedded Digital Systems
  • Satnam Singh, Researcher, Microsoft

Key industry speakers will deliver presentations including:

  • FPGAs versus configurable processors: assessing the different trade-offs in reconfigurability and selecting the right system and device for your application
  • Applications and drivers in defence and aerospace electronics for programmable hardware systems
  • Challenges of designing novel multicore processor architectures
  • Interfaces architectures: exploring the importance of high speed serial buses
