BAE Systems
BAE Systems is a global defence and security company with approximately 100,000 employees worldwide. The company delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and support services.
About BAE Systems Maritime Services
Maritime Services is a £600m business with 3,500 employees, based across five sites. Our end-to-end maritime services range from warship availability, equipment and facilities management, training, product development and through-life support for radar, torpedoes and small boats.
The forefront of radar technology
Our use of cost effective commercial solutions and technology increases performance, through-life support and simplifies technology refresh. We are at the forefront of radar technology, delivering sensor systems that give commanders superior situational awareness and targeting solutions. We have delivered, and continue to support, every major surface ship radar in the UK Royal Navy. That’s why they are in-service on the Type 45 Destroyers being key components of the ships’ devastating capability. They will be installed on the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers and the Type 26 Global Combat Ship will also benefit from our sensor capability when it comes into service in the 2020s.
On land, our Commander radar is in-service with the UK RAF, enhancing UK airspace surveillance and policing. The highly mobile and flexible Commander radar family has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and gives radar coverage for the RAF's quick response air defence fighters, providing a key element of local and integrated command and control of air defence forces.
Elsewhere, our Active Array technology can perform the complex tasks of Ballistic Missile Detection (BMD) tracking, real time target classification and operation in hostile counter-measure environments.
BAE Systems also offer a unique High Frequency Over-The-Horizon radar (HFSWR) capability, providing coverage beyond conventional line of sight radars. We have an unmatched presence, providing proven systems that deliver operational advantage to our customers. Throughout the operational life of a system, we can be trusted to deliver.
SELEX Galileo
SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica company, is a global leader in defence electronics and delivers mission critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare and surveillance.
Across air, land and sea the company exploits its core skills in tactical ISTAR systems, avionics, sensors, defensive aids, tracking, targeting, navigation, command and control, and simulation.
Technology is our tool. Owning our core technologies from start to finish, SELEX Galileo is continuously pursuing innovation. Our scalable family of fire control radars offers true multi-mode functionality to confer advanced detection and track-while-scan capabilities matched to the latest beyond visual range weapons.
