Technical and social visits
The Technical Visit and Course Dinner will be held at Severn Valley Railway on Tuesday, 24 June 2008 .
Course attendees will take part in a guided tour of the signal box at Kidderminster and will have the opportunity to view the extensive collection of vintage signalling equipment at the Kidderminster Railway Museum.
Dinner will be served aboard one of the railway’s vintage locomotives while travelling through the countryside between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
Midland Air Museum
A social visit to Midland Air Museum will be held on the evening of Thursday, 26 June 2008.
The Museum is home to more than 30 historic aircraft on permanent display, as well as a wide range of artefacts and memorabilia. Special collections include the Sir Frank Whittle Jet Heritage Centre, telling the story of the development of the jet age, and Wings over Coventry, showcasing aircraft produced in the area.
Coach transport to and from Austin Court will be provided, and a fish and chip supper will be served at the museum, making this an ideal networking event for the final evening of the course.
