The world is dynamic. There are a vast range of applications which involve real-time processing of data, often derived from multiple sensors, related to uncertain quantities of interest. These Data Fusion and Target Tracking applications are those of interest at this event.

The event builds on the success of previous events in this series (the most recent of which was in 2008) and Fusion 2010. It aims to complement other conferences with a similar technical focus taking place in 2012 (notably SPIE in USA and Fusion 2012 in Singapore) both geographically and in terms of having a high impact single track event with excellent papers.

Papers would be welcome if they are related any application that can be considered to be Data Fusion and Target Tracking. The primary criteria for acceptance will be that they describe a technical approach, advance or application that is interesting. I encourage you to submit a paper and come to the event. It will be both interesting and fun.

Applications of target tracking and/or data fusion are found in diverse civilian and military fields. Civilian applications include air traffic control, navigation, fault tolerant systems and decision problems. In the military domain, applications include surveillance, target identification, command and control, sensor management and weapon guidance.

The DF&TT'12 conference will represent a great opportunity for industrialists to hear from, and speak directly with a broad spectrum of their end-users, and give academics working on in this field, a platform from which to present their short to near-term future technology developments across video data capture, storage and visualisation.

Two keynotes confirmed!

  • Fredrik Gustafsson, Professor in Sensor Informatics, Linkoping University

  • Dr Colin Lewis, Consultant Science Advisor and visiting Professor, The University of Manchester

Be a part of it! Submit your paper.

Find out more about the conference and meet the committee.

Dr Colin Lewis – Consultant Science Advisor to Government and industry both in the UK and overseas, Colin works in security and other related fields: data processing and extraction, illicit material detection and mitigation and long range surveillance.

Join the conference to hear Colin speaking on video analytics which has made mixed progress over all the years it has been worked on.  He will discuss the reasons for this variable progress and share demonstrations of where it has been successfully deployed.

The objective of the Data Fusion and Target Tracking Conference (DF&TT'12) is to give opportunities of experts from various fields to discuss advances and applications of data fusion technologies, to share knowledge and trace future perspectives. Central topics also include target tracking, decision making and inference under uncertainties.

Applications include surveillance, reconnaissance, traffic monitoring and driver assistance systems, intelligent systems, defence and aerospace, agriculture, e-Health monitoring, and related areas.

Authors are invited to submit papers to DF&TT'12 conference. The presented papers will be published in the conference CD proceedings and included in the IEEE Xplore database.
