The 7th IET Water Event comes at a crucial point in time, when the water industry is on the verge of stepping into a new phase of planning to deal with tighter budgets, as well as upcoming challenges in the regulatory, sustainability and operations areas. Now, more than ever, is the time when the industry players need to come together to share ideas and experiences and form valuable networks.

This event provides the ideal opportunity to benchmark water companies’ approaches to the new AMP5 and PR09. It also showcases the future directions and trends in control technology in instrumentation, communication and telemetry.

Dr John Parsons, Head of Telemetry, Yorkshire Water Services Ltd will present a keynote focusing on the business challenges faced by water companies and the implications for technologists who provide solutions to meet those needs. While telemetry solutions can directly impact all of these areas, truly effective telemetry must be aligned to a clearly articulated business strategy for asset management and operation, and delivered within a corporate IT framework. He will also address the Green IT issues that are rising up the agenda for water companies and the carbon footprint of technical solutions that are becoming increasingly important.
