No matter how superior a technology is, its impact on the economy requires successful diffusion through a definitive set of potential application paradigms.
Recent distributed and smart sensor technologies have the prime potential to lead to a vast number of new applications and to initiate the century’s technological developments based upon a newly discovered better understanding of two key front runners of wireless and distributed intelligence.
Under a visionary approach of combined wireless sensing with maturing intelligence we identify three distinct but tightly inter-related areas of development to enable this.
