Awards criteria

 

WES: Women’s Engineering Society (WES) Prize (£750)

This prize is awarded to a young female engineer who is able to engage and inspire young people’s involvement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

She wants to attract young people into engineering and may already have some experience of doing this.

She is also interested in the challenges women face in maintaining their career in engineering.

WES HNC/HND (or equivalent) Degree level / Masters / PhD

Desirable

Experience of leadership - Has led a small team or group of individuals to achieve a goal, this can be voluntary work, at university or at work.  
Experience of team working: The applicant must have experience of working with others; this does not have to be in a leadership role.  
Professional commitment: Evidence to show commitment to a medium term project or role.
