As an Engineering Horizons Bursary holder supported by the organisation what are the benefits/opportunities

Chemring Group Plc have a number of placement opportunities that their individual business units manage and promote:


Roke, part of the Chemring Group, located in Romsey, Hampshire:

  • Roke offer placement, summer placement and work experience. They offer these in support functions on an ad hoc basis and some of the summer placements can be in technical areas.
  • Their Roke graduate scheme is mainly technical and for engineers or consultants in large numbers
  • The benefits gained are varied according to the placement but many include including flexi-leave, gym, social activities and volunteering opportunities 


Chemring Technology Solutions (CTS), on the same site as Roke:

  • CTS offer summer placement opportunities on an informal basis and this year there are two.
  • CTS also offer work experience opportunities.
  • The main benefit, aside from the salary, is that it provides young people with the opportunity to gain experience and exposure in an area that is of interest to them such as engineering.
