National Grid has a corporate head office in London, with offices across the UK and in the north-east of the USA. Its main UK engineering offices are in Warwickshire, the West Midlands and Berkshire.
National Grid is an international electricity and gas company based in the UK and north-east US. We play a vital role in connecting millions of people safely, reliably and efficiently to the energy they use.
We are delighted to be support the IET’s Engineering Horizons Bursaries schemes. In the UK we run the electricity and gas transmission networks across mainland Great Britain. We own the gas transmission system that runs the length of the country and own the electricity transmission system in England and Wales. We also have a gas metering business and operate a number of electricity and gas interconnectors that link the UK energy networks to mainland Europe.
We are investing around £3 billion a year on great engineering schemes that are connecting new low carbon and renewable energy to our networks, and we are also replacing the older parts of our networks. This means customers know that every time they switch on their lights, the energy they use is getting greener. We are designing, building and running the energy systems of the future that will support our communities and underpin economic growth for many decades to come.
National Grid bursary funding via the IET Engineering Horizons Bursary scheme of £1,000 per year for up to 4 years and all the additional benefits provided by the IET.
Each year we recruit advanced apprentices, high apprentices, engineering apprentices and graduates, as well as providing opportunities for under graduate to work with us. To find out more please visit http://careers.nationalgrid.com/
