Present Around The World Global Final 2018

We are thrilled to announce that the winner of the 2018 IET PATW Global Final is Lakshan Subenthiran from the UK.

Lakshan’s engaging and insightful presentation focused on 'Unlocking The Northern Line's Potential.' Congratulations!

Rahil Mansuri from South Asia region, was a proud runner up having delivered a fascinating technical presentation on ‘Life enhancing prosthetic knee’.

Present Around The World Global Final 2017


The PATW 2017 winner was Shubham Saraff from South Asia Region. His presentation titled 'Neurons that Shaped Us' was fascinating and presentation skills were excellent, a well deserved winner who was up against some very strong competition. Zara Shafique from EMEA Region was our runner up, also a great and exciting presentation on 'Discovering Quasars'.

For the first time ever we livestreamed the 5 finalists delivering their presentations at the Achievement Awards Ceremony 2017 in London.



Present Around The World Global Final 2016

Congratulations to Sean Lubner, representing the Americas region, for winning the Present Around The World 2016 competition. Sean's presentation focused on Passive Daylight Cooling and Clean Water Generation using Nanotechnology

Sean Lubner is a postdoctoral researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab in collaboration with Stanford University. He holds a Mechanical Engineering PhD in Energy Science & Technology from the Nano Energy Lab at UC Berkeley, and received his BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Applied Physics (with a minor philosophy) from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011. He has published multiple scientific papers, is a co-inventor of 13 US patents from his time working at Apple, and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.


Present Around The World Global Final 2015

Robert Mayall who represented the Americas region was crowned the winner, with a fantastic presentation focusing on 'Ending the Guessing Game for Infectious Patients'.

The runner up position was awarded to Mark Richards from the UK region. Mark's presentation was called 'Up, up and away on a budget' and focused on home made water rockets made from plastic bottles.

Present Around The World Global Final 2014

Sudeshna Saha won the Global Final in 2014 after competing in the Kolkata Network competition, then in the South Asia Regional Final. View Sudeshna's presentation 'Scientific breakthroughs in batteries - the super-powered batteries and jelly batteries' and take a look at our short interview to find out why she entered the competition.

The runner-up was Matthew Brown who first competed in the New South Wales Network competition, then in the Australia National Final and subsequently won the Asia Pacific Regional Final. Watch Matthew's presentation on 'Polyphonic Music Transcription'. and take a look at Matthew's interview.
